The country will be unsafe if family favor dictatorial Regime of Gotabaya Rajapaksha comes to power that is surrounded by Terrorists but not if Sajith Premadasa comes to power who is in the democratic camp, stressed Minister of Power, Energy and Business Development and Deputy leader of UNP Ravi Karunanayake.

He was speaking at a rally in Malabe, Colombo to ensure the victory of United National Party Presidential candidate Sajith Premadasa.

He further pointed out….

“Where Karuna Amman, who bombed Sacred Tooth Relics stands?. Where Pilleyan who assassinated Parliamentarian Jeosep Pararajasingm stands ?. Where KP is today?. Where Hizbulla who brought money to build University stand today?. Not with us. But with them. Then how comes the National Security will fall to unsafe if we come to power?.

The question of the day is whether to protect family favors or the democracy. What we want is to establish a pure government. Our opposition faction clearly expressed in a press conference that it was Sarath Fonseka who won the war against Terrorism.

In 2015 we could re-establish the democracy. We request from youth to keep trust on us for another one more time. We want to protect democracy. We want to eliminate unemployment among youth.

There are 35 candidates this time. But there are only 2 major camps. Rajapaksha played out with innocent state sector employees promising pay hicks. We increased their salary by 10,000.oo rupees after 11 years after we came to power within one month. Police officers’ and Army officers’ salary by 40%.

Today prices of essential food items have come down. 5 years ago they told that prices of fuel cannot be reduced. But we proved by reducing prices.

Gotabaya Rajapaksha claims that he will reduce the VAT. It is not practical. They try to create unrealistic dreams in the minds of mass. They destroyed the economy instead of strengthening.

The best example is Sarath Fonseka. When he was with them he was patriot and when left them became a traitor.

This is a Sinhala Buddhist country. What we want is to decentralize power while remaining unitary since all the minority parties are with us.
